"Our efforts focused on dredging and fixing damaged retaining walls to improve water flow," he remarked, Tuesday (3/31).
Channel on Jalan Bendungan Hilir VII NormalizedHe noted that the 200-meter normalization project covered a channel measuring 150 cm in height and 180 cm in width.
"Seven personnel performed the work manually," he expressed.
He added that mud buildup in the Jalan Pringgodani channel had reached 60 cm.
"The mud was decreasing the channel's overall water retention capacity," he explained.
He noted that the normalization aims to boost the channel's capacity to handle more water and reduce flooding risks during rain.
"We hope this channel performs optimally to prevent overflows and potential localized flooding," he hoped.
Yansori urged residents not to litter in the drains, as large amounts of trash were found during the cleanup.
"We urge everyone to stop dumping waste into channels because it hinders water flow and causes puddles," he noted.
At the same time, 43-year-old resident Hamdan lauded the Cilandak SDA unit for their rapid action on public reports.
"We appreciate the quick follow-up on our concerns. Hopefully, the normalized channel will now be more efficient and prevent any flooding when it rains," he stated.
